  • Warriewood monthly update - July 2017

    In Warriewood, construction work will continue in the car park and on Pittwater road. Works will include construction of the car park foundation and pavement at the entry to the rugby park.

    Most work will be carried out during the day, however some night work will be required for the
    safety of workers, pedestrians and road users and to minimise traffic impacts.

Works will take approximately 4 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The standard working hours for work at Warriewoodwill be 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.

    Transport Minister Andrew Constance today announced the extension of the Northern Beaches B-Line route to Newport, along with a number of changes to the local bus network new routes, improvements to existing routes and more peak hour services.

    "We’ve made the decision to extend the B-Line route from Mona Vale to Newport which will make it even easier for customers from Newport and the surrounding areas to travel to-and-from the Sydney CBD."

    Changes to the Northern Beaches Bus Network will come into effect later this year to coincide with the launch of the B-Line and can be viewed online at the Northern Beaches Bus Service Plan page. New timetables will be available closer to changeover.

    We will be relocating underground services at the corner of Park Street and Barrenjoey Road outside of normal work hours.

    The work is scheduled to take place between 7pm and 6am on Monday 29 May 2017 and Tuesday 30 May 2017, weather permitting. Our work will include: minor earthwork including excavating trenches, installing and relocating services and cables and removing sections of the existing kerb and minor concreting.

    The standard working hours for work at Mona Vale will be 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.

    The footpath along Barrenjoey Road between Pittwater Road and Park Street will be closed during construction. Alternate routes through Village Park are available.

  • Spit Bridge to Neutral Bay B-Line proposal approved

    TfNSW has received planning approval for the B-Line program between Spit Bridge and Neutral Bay, which features a series of road improvement work to improve bus travel time and reliability between the Northern Beaches and the Sydney CBD.

    A total of 342 submissions were received throughout the public display of the proposal in December 2016 and January 2017.

    Key matters raised included concerns about parking, congestion, the relocation of bus stops, turning restrictions, environmental concerns and construction questions.

    The approved proposal includes the removal of the following items from the scope of works:

    TfNSW has received planning approval for the B-Line program between Spit Bridge and Neutral Bay, which features a series of road improvement work to improve bus travel time and reliability between the Northern Beaches and the Sydney CBD.

    • all proposed turn restrictions at the intersection of Military Road/Ben Boyd Road
    • the proposed section of tidal flow at Ben Boyd Road,Neutral Bay.


    The following scope item has been revised following community feedback:

    • the distance of relocation of outbound and citybound local bus stops from their existing location at Cremorne has been reduced.

    A Submissions Report has been produced to provide further details about the proposal and responses to feedback.

    Narrabeen

    Upcoming day work at Narrabeen will include relocating and modifying the existing footpath and some vegetation removal. We will also demolish the existing amenities block which will involve concrete cutting, a small excavator and removing the materials.

    A temporary amenities facility has been provided for the duration of the project.

    The work will be carried out during the day from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturday.

    Conditions within the car park have changed. Please obey the signage in place.

    The work will be carried out from 7pm to 5am.

    Upcoming day work at Warriewood includes the start of piling, which will begin at the northern end of the car park and take around three weeks to complete.

    Car park changes

    The commuter car park entrance is currently restricted to one lane during construction hours on weekdays and is entry only. A detour is available for vehicles exiting the car park.

    In order to construct the new car park, around 50 spaces will be unavailable from May 2017 until the car
    park is opened later this year.
